I’ve known about Hush Cannabis for some time, but never really pulled the plug.
I’d recently started going through their site again, and noticed that their prices had improved a lot since the last time I had really reviewed their product offerings in detail.
Hush provides a lot more information about their product than I’ve seen on a large number of online retailers including Batch Dates, THC, and Terpene Profiles. While they definitely have options I’d consider on the very high, to almost way too high and I’d still love to see this come down. I’m steadfast in my belief that no Cannabis should be crossing $200 or more, for me $150 is really my absolute top per oz.
The good news is, they have one of the largest selections of sub $100 ounces I’ve seen with some as low as $79, often with sales or freebies offered through various coupon or discount codes offered up.
Shipping was fast, and discreet – the product arrived in packaging that was very similar to your standard monthly subscription box, all in scent proof packages, and set with packing foam to avoid any beating around of your goodies. Really, again just an extra thought that I wasn’t really expecting from a MOM. I’ll say that on presentation Hush goes a step above in branding and packaging.
Welcome to The Budstuff!
The Oz came split into two 14g bags, and I have to say – right out of the gate I was impressed with the trip, and just general bag appeal for something at this price. The bags provided a mixture of small, and medium buds. Overall, I’d say it was a really good balance and the smalls weren’t just larf, they were dense and frosty in their own right.
No issues here with moisture content, buds passed the squish test, and even had a little stick to my finger which isn’t too shabby for a serious “budget” product.
Do you smell that!?
The smell is a little bit tough to nail down on this one for me but when I open the bag the first thing that really stands out is an almost sweet, and pleasant nose. I really don’t wanna focus on the Mint aspect, but it really does give that minty effect, almost like dipping your nose into muted eucalyptus rubs.
The taste is where it gets interesting, the last time I had this cultivar I really wasn’t digging the taste, it had a very tobacco-y taste, with a dirty menthol cigarettes vibe to the exhale, and while It likely wasn’t as pungent as it sounds, it was definitely one of the few times I’ve been left rather grossed out by Cannabis tastes.
With this take on Chimp Mints, the flavors felt very dialed in – clean, and dare I say on the better side of the minty / menthol exhale. I’m not sure who is growing for Hush, or where they are sourcing their product but whatever they are doing with this cultivar I think they’ve got it dialed in.
How’d it get burned!?
We’ve been rolling this up in a joint, using Big Bark Pure Papers, and these really have no added taste, bleach anything and even with these papers we were getting a nice clean, even burn with the Chimp Mints. Nice white ash, I think we had one Canoe happen while we finished off the first 14g bag.
Verdict?
God damn man, I wasn’t expecting much when I purchased this, and the anxiety of trying a new spot was real – but I spent $200+ with Hush on this order, and I will absolutely be buying from them again. Their take on Chimp Mints is now my favorite and will set the bar for how I view this Cultivar moving forward. If you are providing it on the licensed market you could learn a thing or two from this product.
The high is fantastic, it hits fast and hard – for me, it hits that body high slightly just enough to really give me a little edge on my chronic pain while also keeping that euphoric feeling and the high is pretty long-lasting.
I would 100% order this product from Hush again.
